the hinged flap, decorated with mother of pearl castle scene opens to green velvet lining, the hinged stationery compartment enclosing inkwells, stationery racks as well as a covered compartment, detaches to reveal the most exquisite mother of pearl inlaid games board. single drawer to the frieze. raised on pierced scroll supports beautifully decorated with painted gilts scrolls and motifs. standing on rectangular feet with castors.
this really is the most wonderfully decorative, yet functional piece, not done justice by the photographs.
